CALL TO WORSHIP: Elder Marylou Rossman
“I will say to the north, ‘Give up, and to the south, Do not withhold; bring My sons from afar and My daughters from the end of the earth, everyone who is called by My name, whom I created for My glory, whom I formed and made.’”( Is. 43:6-7)
“‘Your people shall all be righteous; they shall possess the land forever, the branch of My planting, the work of My hands, that I might be glorified,’ says the Lord.” (Is. 60:21)
“To grant to those who mourn in Zion—to give them a beautiful headdress instead of ashes, the oil of gladness instead of mourning, the garment of praise instead of a faint spirit; that they may be called oaks of righteousness, the planting of the Lord, that He may be glorified.” (Is. 61:3)
“‘For as the loincloth clings to the waist of a man, so I made the whole house of Israel and the whole house of Judah cling to Me,’ declares the Lord, ‘that they might be for Me a people, a name, a praise, and a glory. . .” (Jer. 13:11)
“God predestined us for adoption to Himself as sons through Jesus Christ,
according to the purpose of His will, to the praise of His glorious grace, with which He has blessed us in the Beloved.” (Eph. 1:5-6)
“To this end we always pray for you, that our God may make you worthy of His calling and may fulfill every resolve for good and every work of faith by His power, so that the name of our Lord Jesus may be glorified in you, and you in Him, according to the grace of our God and the Lord Jesus Christ.”
SONG OF PRAISE: “Come, Thou Almighty King”
1 Come, thou Almighty King,
help us thy name to sing,
help us to praise.
Father, all glorious,
o’er all victorious,
come and reign over us,
Ancient of Days.
2 Come, thou Incarnate Word,
gird on thy mighty sword,
scatter thy foes.
Let thine almighty aid
our sure defense be made,
our souls on thee be stayed;
thy wonders show.
3 Come, Holy Comforter,
thy sacred witness bear
in this glad hour.
Thou who almighty art,
now rule in ev’ry heart,
and ne’er from us depart,
Spirit of power.
4 To the great One in Three
eternal praises be,
His sov’reign majesty
may we in glory see,
and to eternity
love and adore.
INVOCATION In Unison
Light of Christ, awaken us this hour to the glory of Your presence in our midst. Shine among us in such a way that the darkness without and within may be pushed back, such that we might truly see what is really real. Enable us to behold the world as You created it to be, as You created us to be. May Your light within us shine through into worship this day, as all days. This we pray in the name of the Word made flesh, the light which is the light of all people. Jesus Christ. Amen.
HYMN OF WORSHIP: “I’d Rather Have Jesus”
1 I’d rather have Jesus than silver or gold;
I’d rather be His than have riches untold;
I’d rather have Jesus than houses or lands.
I’d rather be led by His nail pierced hand
Than to be the king of a vast domain
Or be held in sin’s dread sway.
I’d rather have Jesus than anything
This world affords today.
2 I’d rather have Jesus than men’s applause;
I’d rather be faithful to His dear cause;
I’d rather have Jesus than worldwide fame.
I’d rather be true to His holy name [Chorus]
3 He’s fairer than lilies of rarest bloom;
He’s sweeter than honey from out the comb;
He’s all that my hungering spirit needs.
I’d rather have Jesus and let Him lead [Chorus]
CONFESSING OUR SIN TOGETHER In Unison
Great God: You have given us Jesus, the Light of the World, but we choose darkness and cling to sins that hide Your brightness from us. We are frightened disciples who are slow to speak Your Good News. In so many ways we sin and fall short of Your glory. Forgive us, Lord; set us free. Cause us to proclaim Your glory in Jesus Christ, in whose name we pray. Amen. Use the next few moments for quiet reflection and confession of sins to God.
ASSURANCE OF PARDON:
He has delivered us from the domain of darkness and transferred us to the kingdom of His beloved Son, in whom we have redemption, the forgiveness of sins. (Col. 1: 13-14)

OFFERING OF OUR GIFTS TO GOD FOR RPC MINISTRY & MISSION
Offertory: “,” arr.
Praise God from whom all blessings flow,
Praise Him all creatures here below,
Praise Him above ye heavenly host,
Praise Father, Son, and Holy Ghost. Amen.
HYMN OF ADORATION: “It Is Well with My Soul”
1 When peace like a river attendeth my way,
when sorrows like sea billows roll;
whatever my lot, thou hast taught me to say,
“It is well, it is well with my soul.”
Refrain (may be sung after final stanza only):
It is well with my soul;
it is well, it is well with my soul.
2 Though Satan should buffet, though trials should come,
let this blest assurance control:
that Christ has regarded my helpless estate,
and has shed his own blood for my soul. Refrain
3 My sin oh, the bliss of this glorious thought!
my sin, not in part, but the whole,
is nailed to the cross, and I bear it no more;
praise the Lord, praise the Lord, O my soul! Refrain
4 O Lord, haste the day when my faith shall be sight,
the clouds be rolled back as a scroll;
the trump shall resound and the Lord shall descend;
even so, it is well with my soul. Refrain

“Rejoicing as Shining Lights For God’s Good Pleasure”
CLOSING SONG: “Come, Ye Sinners, Poor & Needy”
1 Come, ye sinners, poor and needy,
weak and wounded, sick and sore;
Jesus ready stands to save you,
full of pity, love, and power.
2 Come, ye thirsty, come and welcome,
God’s free bounty glorify;
true belief and true repentance,
ev’ry grace that brings you nigh.
3 Let not conscience make you linger,
nor of fitness fondly dream;
all the fitness he requireth
is to feel your need of him.
4 Come, ye weary, heavy laden,
lost and ruined by the fall;
if you tarry till you’re better,
you will never come at all.
5 I will rise and go to Jesus!
He will save me from my sin.
By the riches of his merit,
there is joy and life in him.
