Thank you to everyone who helped make the Rest Stop Ministry and fundraiser a success. $1,589.77 was raised to support Mt. Pisgah Women missions.

The Presbytery Discernment Team that is helping us discern our future within or outside the Presbyterian Church (USA) will be meeting with Pastor Berkley and our Session elders this Wednesday, to begin the process of discernment. Please pray that the entire process will be a demonstration of God’s gracious provision.

A baby shower!—Mount Pisgah Women is throwing a baby shower on June 5 at 1:00 at the church. All gifts will be donated to CareNet Pregnancy Center Resource Room. They especially need boy’s clothing from newborn to 2T and gently used clothing is acceptable. Other needs are: baby towels, baby washcloths, baby toiletries, small packages of diapers and wipes, and swimwear for toddlers. No need to wrap. The shower will be the regular Mt. Pisgah Women meeting for June and the final meeting until fall. Women need not be members to attend, just have a heart for Christ, our community, and missions.

The Men’s Group is studying Romans each Wednesday at 6:30 pm in the church office, led by Pastor Berkley. This is a rich time of fellowship and study, and all men are invited. Strong Bible knowledge is not required, since the men are growing that strength together week by week.

The Operation Christmas Child project has a work group most Wednesdays at 2:00 at the church, and your help is welcomed. Also, supplies for the shoeboxes are needed. Here is a partial list – there is a more extensive list available at the church.

  •  Hygiene Kits/no liquids
  • • Soap (regular size work)
  • • Washcloth
  • • Hair ties & scrunchie
  • • Toothbrush
  • • Toothpaste
  • • Costume jewelry
  • • Pony beads
  • • Hair bows & barrettes
  • • Lip balm
  • • Manicure set

February 3 to February 16

MINISTRY OPPORTUNITIES

 This week, February 3‒9

  •  Tuesday: 6:30 pm, Men’s Group, here
  •  Wednesday: 1:00, Mt. Pisgah Women, here
  •  Wednesday: 7:00 pm, Celebrate Recovery @ Cle Elum Community Church

 Following week, February 10‒16

  •  Tuesday: 6:30 pm, Men’s Group, here
  •  Wednesday: 7:00 pm, Celebrate Recovery @ Cle Elum Community Church

Mt. Pisgah Women will meet this Wednesday, February 6, at 1:00 here at the church. You need not be a member to attend. If you are a woman with a heart for Christ, the Church, and missions, then you are welcome to attend.

Help our Shoebox Ministry ‒ Our Operation Christmas Child workers are seeking donation of items for small sewing kits for the shoebox gifts. Especially needed are needles, thread, buttons, small scissors, trims, and material. Place your donated items in an OCC box near the door—if you have a notion to give.

The Annual Congregational Meeting will be held on Sunday, February 24, immediately following the worship service. All members are asked to attend this brief meeting, to hear plans for 2013 and to elect officers to serve the church.

Get your offering envelopes. Your use of offering envelopes provides a number of advantages: (1) They help the church provide tax receipts for cash donations; (2) they provide privacy in the plate; and (3) they offer a weekly reminder to give. Sign your name and pick up the correspondingly numbered box by the front door.

Through the years, the stories are told

Did you miss the community wide Woman’s Retreat?

If you didn’t make it to the woman’s retreat at Camp Koinonia, you missed out on a wonderful time with like minded women of this community. You will have a chance to join us next year on

Friday and Saturday September 30th and October 1st, 2011.

Our speaker this year was Bette Nordberg, author of fiction and bible studies. You can find some of her books in our church library. We spent time singing and praising God, listening to Bette talk about “soul links”. We ate, talked, laughed and cried. Can’t be better than that. More information will follow for next years retreat.
